Freedom of Information Act 2000 – Request for Information

We are pleased to respond to your request for information and our response is set out below:

Request / Response

Could I please put the following Freedom of Information request to your CCG(s).

Please could you provide:

Q1. A list of all the optional services and schemes commissioned by the CCG that your member GP practices could choose to participate in, in 2020/21 - such as Local Enhanced Services, Local Improvement Schemes (LISs) and Prescribing Incentive/Improvement schemes

Please see the enclosed spreadsheet ‘0129FOI2021 (Optional GP Services response FINAL)’.

Q2.The value of each, ie, the total amount that can be earned for participation in the service/scheme per patient or per procedure

Please see the enclosed spreadsheet ‘0129FOI2021 (Optional GP Services response FINAL)’.

Q3.The total budget for each for 2020/21

Please see the enclosed spreadsheet ‘0129FOI2021 (Optional GP Services response FINAL)’.

Q4. The period in which this data for each scheme is valid, ie, the start and end dates of its specification

Please see the enclosed spreadsheet ‘0129FOI2021 (Optional GP Services response FINAL)’.

Q5. The specification for each of these services/schemes

Please see the attached documents outlining service specifications for those listed in Q1.

Q6. Additionally, have any of these schemes been paused, or are any subject to being paused as a result of either Covid-19 or the new Covid vaccine programme?

NHS Sheffield Clinical Commissioning Group (SCCG) has not suspended or paused locally commissioned services in 2020/21 however, in recognition of the reprioritisation of routine work necessary to enable primary care to meet the demands of the Covid-19 pandemic and in line with NHS England guidance, SCCG reimbursed GP practices for any locally commissioned activity carried out in quarter 1 and 2 2020/21 to the same value as Q3 and 4 2019/20 if actual activity for the period fell below this. This was to provide practices with income protection for that locally commissioned activity deemed not to be a priority. For quarters 3 and 4 activity will be reimbursed on an actual activity basis where applicable.

Please provide the data in an Excel spreadsheet using the format in the attached template, and the specifications as Word or PDF documents.
