We are pleased to respond to your request for information and our response is set out below:
Request
My name is [redacted], I am currently working as an intern for [redacted], one of the therapies that we specialise in, is Insulin Pump therapy (CSII) for people living with type 1 diabetes.
I have researching CGM (Continuous Glucose Monitoring) policies across the UK to understand the environment and whether there are any discrepancies to access for patients in different regions. Having looked at your homepage and policy page I cannot see any mention of specific criteria or a policy in place. Apologies if I have missed this. If may be that currently your HCP’s request via an Individual Funding Request (IFR) or there is no policy in place.
It would be great to know if a CGM policy is currently being discussed or in process, if you have any information on this or could provide the contact details of a diabetes specialist in your CCG who you think might we would be greatly appreciate it.
I also understand that many CCG’s do work in tandem in terms of what policies they release and what guidance they follow, if this is the case for your CCG would you please be able to advise me who your alliance is with please.
We strongly believe by carrying out this market research it will benefit the diabetes community, giving us greater insight to support Diabetes Centres and Healthcare Professionals, ultimately to enhance the people’s lives who live with this condition.
