We are pleased to respond to your request for information and our response is set out below:

Request

Does your clinical commissioning group restrict the number of advanced therapies (biologics, biosimilars/JAK inhibitors) a patient with rheumatoid arthritis can receive?

Response

Sheffield CCG follows NICE guidelines and has no policy restrictions.  Prescribing in Rheumatology is part of the MSK contract and the specification states:

‘Where patients qualify for treatment with biologics for MSK conditions under NICE guidance NHSS CCG expect that this treatment will be given’
