Under the provisions of the Freedom of Information legislation, could you please answer the following questions regarding the provision of General Practice Extended Access in your area.
The information specifically requested is:
- Please provide details of any General Practice Extended Access contracts put out to tender by your CCG in the last five years, including the winner of those contracts
In line with national guidance:
https://www.england.nhs.uk/gp/gpfv/redesign/improving-access/ we commission GP extended access services on a block contract basis at an agreed value per head of population for a minimum number of appointments (further information and guidance can be found in the link provided). Primary Care Sheffield (PCS) have been the only winning provider in the past 5 years.
- Who are the current provider(s) of General Practice Extended Access in your area?
NHS Sheffield CCG (SCCG) commission a GP Extended Access Service from a single provider, PCS.
- What is the name of the Senior Responsible Officer at the provider(s) of General Practice Extended Access in your area?
SCCG does not hold this information, please contact PCS – pcs.enquiries@nhs.net.

The sites themselves do not do bookings for the hubs. These are booked through the patients GP practice or 111, as such there is no direct phone number.
